A charming vintage Metlox ‘Sir Francis Drake’ ceramic duck cookie jar. This large ceramic cookie jar has a white glaze base with fantastic hand painted features. Metlox has been popular with collectors because of their charming designs and quality of their cookie jars. They were in business from 1927 to 1989, their name came from the abbreviation for Metal Oxide. Sir Francis Drake was part of an entire line of duck-centric Metlox. The base of the jar is signed ‘METLOX CALIF. USA’
