Item Details
A vintage hand-knotted Persian Kashan wool area rug. This rug is rendered in a palette of cranberry, deep indigo, ivory, sky blue, rose, taupe, sapphire, camel, rust, and sage. The cranberry colored field begins with a lobed pendant medallion infilled with flowers and palmettes, and it features a shah abbasi pattern throughout, along with rust, and deep indigo grounded spandrels. Framing the ornate field is a herati patterned main border, along with a pair of boteh meander guard borders, as well as carnation meander minor borders. Finishing this rug are overcast selvedges and a wool warp fringe to the ends. It is labeled to the underside.
