Item Details
A yarn and cotton embroidery work depicting the Christ Child by Louisa M. Boehler, dated to the late 19th century. The work depicts an angel with the Christ Child as He holds a staff topped with the cross. To the lower margin is a reverse glass painted ‘matting’, listing the artist. The work is housed in a wooden frame under antique glass.
Condition
- to fair; tears and discoloration to the fabric backing; minor wear to the finish on the frame; mild discoloration to the textile; areas of missing stitches in the upper left corner.
