Terracotta Bust After Felix Lecomte of Marie Antoinette

A terracotta bust of Marie Antoinette after a 1783 original sculpture by Felix Lecomte (France, 1737-1817). It is made of cast terracotta with a hand-rubbed painted finish. It depicts the last French queen with upswept hair. She wears a cameo brooch at the bodice. It is raised on an attached pedestal base incised with the artist’s name to the verso.

- to Fair; minor marks throughout surface; two significant chips to the lower rear base.
