Hand-Knotted Persian Mehriban-Style Wool Accent Rug
Item Details
A hand-knotted Persian Mehriban-style accent rug. This wool rug features a damask rose pattern to the center surrounded with stylized flowers, large, oversized palmettes, tree and vase forms in a dense pattern. It is worked in navy, black, tawny, rose and ice blue over a rich scarlet red field. Framing the rug is a compound border boasting large shah abbasi pendants with autumn leaves grounded in black flanked by carnation meander guard borders over ivory. Selvedges are overcast, the rug finishing with a wide kilim skirt. The fringe has been replaced at either end. It is unlabeled.
