Item Details
A hand-knotted Persian Kerman silk prayer rug. This finely, hand-knotted prayer rug features a color palette of burgundy, pistachio, cornflower blue, tan, ocher, muted coral, and olive. The rug has a ogival mihrab arch, under which sinuous trees, flowers, deer, rabbits, and peacocks. It is framed with compound borders of lush flowers and leaves, with songbirds perched within. It is finished with overcast selvedges and fine natural warp fringe to either end. It is not labeled.
