A hand-Knotted Persian Tabriz area rug. This wool rug begins with a floral medallion to the center with large Shah Abbasi pendants at each end. The remaining field features layers of baroque style motifs including corner spandrels worked in indigo, ivory, powder blue, macaroon and maroon. Framing the rug are carnation meander guard borders and a main border boasting large palmettes and tree forms grounded in onyx. Selvedges are overcast, the rug finishing with a kilim skirt and knotted ivory warp fringe at either end. It is unlabeled.
