Finely Hand-Knotted Persian Isfahan Silk and Wool Accent Rug
Item Details
A finely hand-knotted Persian Isfahan accent rug. This silk and wool pile rug is rendered in a palette of cobalt, mulberry, camel, indigo, emerald, blush, and ivory and centered with a circular pendant medallion. The rectilinear field is densely populated with chains of a rosettes, Shah Abbasi palmettes, and purling vines arranged in a diamond shape, with corner spandrels mirroring the field pattern over indigo. It is framed by Shah Abbasi guard borders, while the primary border displays an ornate floral pattern over blush. The rug is finished with overcast selvedges that have been reinforced and long silk warp fringe. It is unlabeled.
