A hand-knotted Persian Tabriz round area rug. This wool and silk pile rug is rendered in a palette of carmine, aqua, salmon, gold, periwinkle, mint, ebony, and eggshell and centered with a star medallion infilled with a geometric herati motif. The circular field features a trio of concentric stars, each densely populated with rosettes, sickle leaves, and palmettes. Compound floral meander guard borders flank the primary border, which displays a stylized herati pattern over eggshell. It is finished with scalloped edges and long silk warp fringe. The rug is unlabeled.
