A hand-colored metzograph on paper after Henry Thomas Alken (1785-1851) titled Coursing. Depicted are equestrian scenes in succession from getting on the horses from the paddock to capturing a rabbit while on the hunt. This piece is without an artist’s signature and is presented matted under glass in a wooden frame.
Condition
- to fair; dust and accretions present to glass and frame; heavy wear to edges of frame; toning to paper; slight billow to paper; loss of wood to lower right and upper left margins of frame.
