A Museum of Modern Art sculpture titled Medici Walking Horse after Giovanni Bologna (1529–1608). The Museum’s sculpture is based on a model by the Dutch sculptor. Bologna’s models were created for an equestrian statue in the Piazza Della Signoria in Florence, which was finished in 1594. The belly of the horse is marked “MMA 1984”.

Condition

- both legs attached to the base are cracked; nicks and chips throughout sculpture and base; one ear is broken and the other ear is missing.
