Hand-Knotted Indo-Oushak Area Rug

A hand-knotted Indo-Oushak wool area rug. This rug, attributed to Indian weavers, comes in a muted palette of orange, golden yellow, ecru, and grey, featuring a central lozenge containing a lobed floral medallion. Patterns to the main field depict sprawling lancet leaves, palmettes, vines and lobed flowers with borders showcasing large palmettes and meandering carnations. Selvedges are overcast, the rug finishing at each end with short wool warp fringe. It is unlabeled.
