Item Details
A large power-loomed Diamant Kurdistani area rug. This Belgian-made wool area rug features a Persian-style design incorporating arabesqued vines, whirling sprays of flowers, palmettes and foliage over a cinnamon-pink field. Framing the field are six borders including a wide herati main border featuring palmettes and saz leaves over cream. Four minor borders feature meander patterns over apricot or midnight blue. A small black diamond is woven into a cartouche in one of the borders. Selvedges are serged, ends finishing with ivory fringe. A label on the reverse reads ‘Kurdistani Diamant’ and ‘100% Pure New Zealand Wool Pile.’
