A Persian Nain area rug. This lambswool and silk rug is finely hand knotted in a palette of ivory, shades of blue, burgundy and brown. The field has a large central medallion surrounded by arabesque vinework featuring palmettes, rosettes and botanical motifs; flanked by ornate spandrels. The field is framed by wrap around borders in a matching color palette, featuring meander floral motifs. The rug is finished with cream wool overcast selvedges and natural warp fringe to each end. White leather edge protecters run along the selvedges.
