An oil painting on board by well-listed American artist Arthur Vidal Diehl (1870-1929). This Impressionist style painting depicts a stret scene at night in the rain, shadowy figures moving along a crowded sidewalk under umbrellas in front of a building with a large arched entryway. The light from the door, windows, and streetlights reflects off of the rain-soaked street and sidewalk, illuminating the night scene. It is signed to the lower left corner and presented in a black and gold tone painted wood frame with wire to the verso for hanging. Please note 18ATL020-160 for another painting by Diehl.
