Large Hand-Knotted Persian Sabzavar Area Rug
Item Details
A large hand-knotted Persian Sabzavar area rug. This wool rug features a central rosette medallion in a palette of peach, light blue, tan, marigold, deep blue, and pea green, with pendants and floral spray against a red field. It has deep blue corner treatments with floral vase motifs, a deep blue main border with dense floral patterns and meandering floral secondary and guard borders. Selvedges are overcast, the rug finishing at each end with ivory wool warp fringe. A label on the reverse contains numerical codes but no maker’s information.
