Antique European Hunting Sword

Item Details

An antique European hunting or hanger sword. This sword features an unusual grip constructed from ridged dark ebony slabs that are segmented with brass flanges. The hilt bears a brass pommel, stirrup-shaped knucklebow, and pierced half-moon counterguard terminating in a drop finial. The blade is single-edged and slightly curved, with no fuller or visible maker’s marks.

- heavy rust and chips to blade; grip is loose; tarnish to brass.
