A hand-knotted Turkish Konya wool area rug. This rug is rendered in a palette of pale yellow, peach, ivory, cranberry, slate blue, sepia, and wheat. The peach hued field begins with a pale yellow lozenge, which features a diamond medallion with flower stalks and rosettes, while infilled with a cruciform shape and hooked elements. The field also features boteh, ewer, and floral motifs, along with small geometrically shaped spandrels. Framing the field is a main rosette patterned border, with a similar pattern to a minor border, and a floral meander guard border as well. Finishing this rug are overcast selvedges and an extremely short goat hair warp fringe to the ends. Unlabeled.
