French Louis XV Provençal Armoire with Fitted Interior
Item Details
A French Louis XV Provençal armoire with a (later) fitted interior; antique and after, mid 19th century. The armoire has arched crown molding with an arched and carved frieze below, above a pair of arched doors with raised panels, and the edges are accented with pierced metal trim. The center between the doors is intricately carved with flower baskets and wheat. The interior is fitted with a shelf with eight divided compartments below, and below that, eleven drawers with recessed ring pulls. The bottom of the armoire has a scrolled and carved bracket and it rests on short, carved cabriole legs. No maker’s marks. The fitted interior can be easily removed; the original shelves are also included.

- surface marks, scuffs, scratches and wear; please note that the fitted interior is a later custom addition. Shelves easily removable, and were custom made.
