Late 19th Century Boulle Style Cave a Liqueur

Item Details

An antique cave a liqueur in the style of French cabinetmaker André-Charles Boulle. This lockable box features intricate brass acanthus leaves and scrolls inlaid to a mottled red veneer. It contains a pierced mahogany tone frame containing four glass decanters and eight cordial glasses. Each square decanter is accented with a faceted stopper and hanging shell tag, inscribed: ‘Kirsch’, ‘Curaçao’, ‘Fine Champagne’, and ‘Anisette’. The cordial glasses feature a faceted bowl and square pedestal base. The box is finished with carved wooden trim to the edges and rests on four arrow feet. The set bears no discernible maker’s marks and is likely dated to the late 19th century.
