Item Details
A hand-knotted Persian Kashan area rug. This wool rug is hand-knotted in a palette of bright crimson, sky blue, white, mustard, moss green, pink, cerulean, indigo, and black. It has an ogival multifoil diamond shaped central medallion on a field densely patterned with arabesqued vines,lancet leaves, and Shah Abbasi style palmettes. It has tri-color indigo, sky blue, and white spandrels with scrollwork patterns. It has carnation meander guard borders and a herati pattern main border. It is finished with overcast selvedges and fringe to either end. Marked to verso made in Iran.
