A hand-knotted Persian Bijar wool room size rug. This rug is rendered in a palette cranberry, slate blue, ivory, rose, indigo, wheat, ochre, and emerald. The field features an all-over herati pattern which flows over the hexagonal pendant medallion, the cranberry colored lozenge, and the indigo and slate blue layered spandrels. Framing the field is a main herati border, along with multiple guard borders including laleh abbasi, carnation meander, and floral patterns. Finishing this rug are overcast selvedges and a cotton kilim skirt with a short knotted warp fringe to the ends. Unlabeled.
