A hand-knotted Indian Khamariah wool area rug. This rug is rendered in a palette of indigo, crimson, powder blue, ivory, gold, and mauve. The indigo colored field features an intricate all-over herati pattern, while framed with an immediate border of boteh. Framing the field is a main samovar border, along with four floral meander guard borders, and comb patterns to minor borders. Finishing this rug are overcast selvedges and a cotton kilim skirt with warp fringe to the ends, as well as sewn-on vinyl pieces for stability. Unlabeled.
