Hand-Knotted Persian Wool Area Rug

Item Details

A hand-knotted Persian wool area rug. Rendered in a palette of crimson, deep indigo, ivory, sky blue, gold, coral, and wine, and sepia. The predominately crimson colored field begins with a central medallion set into a mirrored form. The field, medallions, and the layered spandrels are all infilled with an abundance of palmettes, floral, and foliate motifs, along with small filler symbols throughout. Framing the field is an unresolved main Lotuses border grounded in a deep indigo, as well as a floral meander guard border. Finishing this knotted rug is overcast selvages and a fringe to the ends. Unlabeled.
