A circa 1937 lithograph poster advertising an appearance by French actress and musician Mistinguett (b. Jeanne Florentine Bourgeois, 1875 – 1956) in Ça Ç’est Parisien at Paris’s Théâtre Mogador. The piece was created after a painting by listed French artist Jean-Dominique van Caulaert (1877 – 1979) and printed by Atelier Girbal of Paris. The work depicts the famous performer smiling and singing as she holds an umbrella under one arm, with decorative text of “Mistinguett dans Ça Ç’est Parisien, Théâtre Mogador” printed in plate to the bottom. The work is attributed in plate to the center right with “D’aprés J.D. van Caulaert XXXVII”, with publishing information printed to the lower left. It is presented under UV plexiglass in a slim wooden frame.
