Vintage Louis XV Style Petite Commode

Item Details

A vintage Louis XV petite commode. This rectangular top chest with beveled edges and shaped front trim overhangs a conforming case with bookmatched tulipwood veneers, with burr elm drawer fronts. The case supports three full width, stacked drawers. The shaped drawer fronts feature dovetail joinery, burl veneer panels, and decorative brass handles. The drawer fronts are flanked by stiles with applied brass embellishments The chest rises on cabriole legs terminating on brass applied feet. There are no visible maker’s marks.
