A collection of approximately fifty American, English, French and German boxes of playing cards. Games include poker, bridge, pinochle, canasta, flinch and more. Notable cards include a deck of ‘Blossom’ motif playing cards presented in a stamped leather case depicting an image of Washington’s Headquarters at Valley Forge; a set of French ‘Jeu de Divination’ cards reproduced from a set dated around 1820 held in the Bibliothèque Nationale; a set of German children’s Märchen Quartett (Fairytale Quartet) cards; and English Queen Elizabeth II playing cards. ‘Troopers Across America’, ‘Aircraft Recognition’ and many more sets complete this collection.
