Early 1960s Cincinnati Reds "Boy Head" Baseball Nodder

An early 1960s authentic Cincinnati Reds nodder or bobblehead doll. Constructed of paper mache composition, this doll was created and referred as a ‘Boy Face.’ in design. This cute little guy stands on a red square base with the name ‘Cincinnati’ embossed on his chest. He is wearing baseball cleats with ‘00’ numbered uniform and holding a ball and wearing a brown glove. The nodder’s face and body are hand-painted with a metal spring attached from the body to head which makes a nodding motion. His head is adorned with a vintage white and red ‘C’ baseball cap. No maker’s name stamped or identified. This doll was available to baseball fans at historic Crosley Field Ball Park in the early 1960s. This year the Cincinnati Reds and Hall Of Fame Museum re-created this model.
