Vintage Power-Loomed Couristan "Kashimar" Wool Area Rug
Item Details
A vintage power-loomed Kashimar area rug by Couristan. This Belgian-made wool rug features a Persian-style vase design in a palette of midnight blue, azure, powder blue, cocoa and camel. It begins with an ogival medallion, which is densely patterned with petals, palmettes, foliates and flowers, elements that continue in the field and borders, most of which are grounded in shades of light blue. Each corner contains a vase form. Selvedges are serged, the rug finishing at each end with applied fringe. It is labeled on the reverse.
