A Tibetan style silk thangka. This piece features a gouache painting that depicts Gautama Buddha seated in the dhyanasana pose upon a lotus throne. He holds his right hand in the bhumiparsa ‘earth witness’ mudra while his left hand rests in his lap, and is surrounded by vignettes depicting devotees in places of worship. The painting is bordered by silk brocade fabric and has a protective silk cover flap affixed the top, with ties for rolling the piece to store.

- to Fair; wooden rod at top is broken; discoloration throughout.
