Louis Icart Hand Colored Etching on Paper "Sleeping Beauty"
Item Details
A signed hand colored etching on paper titled Sleeping Beauty by well listed French artist and designer Louis Icart (1888-1950). This illustrative image depicts Sleeping Beauty in a blue tinted nightgown, reclined on a long cushion flanked by Classical columns. A small dog sleeps at the foot of the bed. The work is signed in graphite by Icart in the lower margin. A Louis Icart windmill blind stamp is present to the lower left. It is presented under glass in a custom decorated French mat with elliptical window in a gilded wood oval frame with hand painted floral motif. There is a hanging wire mounted to the verso.

- to fair; moderate discoloration to image; slight warping to paper ground; stains to fabric mat; moderate to severe wear to frame with a piece missing from the top right;
