A finely hand-knotted Persian Qom silk area rug. This beautiful rug is rendered in a palette of ivory, gold, sapphire, crimson, sage, coral, indigo, ochre, and powder blue. The intricately detailed field begins with a large gonbad medallion, while featuring an abundance of floral motifs along with scrolling leaves and palmette pendants at each corner. Framing the ornate field is a main rub el hizb border, along with herati guard borders, and floral meander minor borders. Finishing this rug are overcast selvedges and a silk kilim skirt with a long fine warp fringe to the ends. Unlabeled.
