Vintage Northwood "Argonaut Shell" Custard Glass Serveware
Item Details
A five piece selection of vintage glass serveware by Northwood in the Argonaut Shell pattern. Each translucent ivory piece is relief molded with a ribbed body, accented with shell and seaweed motifs to the footed base. Included is a serving bowl, covered dish with shell finial, a compote, open sugar bowl, and creamer. Each is finished with green painted accents and gilt trim. The pieces bear no discernible maker’s marks and are dated c. 1910-1925. Harry Northwood opened the original factory in Ohio in 1887, eventually moving to West Virginia, where the factory closed in 1925.
