A hand-knotted Pakistani Bokhara area rug. This rug is hand-knotted in a palette of barley, cream, mauve, muted teal, and black. The field is patterned with octagonal and Chemche style guls arranged in a lattice pattern. It is framed with borders of hooked eight-sided medallions and linked circles. At either end of the rug are diamond lattice borders and natural warp fringe. Finished with overcast selvedges and marked to the verso.

Condition

- few small stains; one very well-executed repair seam on one fringe edge, not seen unless examined closely.
