Item Details
A hand-knotted Persian Kashan area rug. This wool rug is hand-knotted in a palette of golden-ocher, red, cream, navy blue, brown, pale yellow, and charcoal. It has a scalloped diamond shaped central medallion with pendants to either side and the field is patterned with scrolling vines. lancet leaves, and Shah Abbasi style palmettes. It has carnation meander guard borders and a curvilinear herati pattern main border. Finished with overcast edges and fringe to either end. Marked to verso.
