Item Details
A vintage hand-knotted Persian Joshegan wool area rug. This rug is rendered in an abrashed palette of madder red, sapphire, black, ivory, celadon, and wheat. The madder red hued field begins with a stepped diamond pendant medallion, and features a lattice of branched floral clusters, grounded by the same pattern to the sapphire colored spandrels. Framing the field is a main stylized herati border, along with cruciform patterned guard borders, and a sawtooth minor border. Finishing this rug are overcast selvedges and a short ivory warp fringe to the ends, as well as a label to the underside.
