Hand-Knotted Persian "Yalameh" Area Rug
Item Details
A hand-knotted Persian area rug. This wool rug features a Yalameh-inspired design in a bright palette of ochre, rust, royal blue, emerald and cerulean. It begins with a grid of rectangular panels, each containing a Turkmen-style motif, over different ground colors. The field is framed by compound borders, including a stylized leaf and calyx main border over rust. Selvedges are overcast, the rug finishing at each end with short cotton warp fringe. A label on the reverse reads ‘Made in Iran.’
