Vintage Hand-Knotted Persian Karaja Heriz Wool Carpet Runner
Item Details
A vintage hand-knotted Persian Karaja Heriz carpet runner. This wool rug is woven in an abrash color palette of scarlet red, magenta, ivory, goldenrod and charcoal. It features a pole medallion with six hexagonal shaped motifs, attached partial motifs along with cruciform pendants infilled with rectilinear designs and flower heads. Framing this rug are leaf and calyx, cruciform, flower heads, sawtooth and barber pole borders. Selvedges are overcast in stripes, the rug finishing with variegated tones of camel, cream and brown fringe at either end. Labeled with a tag to the verso indicating country of origin.
