Item Details
A hand-knotted Persian village accent rug. This wool rug is rendered in a palette of crimson, charcoal, periwinkle, cream, camel and rose. It features a densely patterned field beginning with a large diamond medallion resting on a crimson lozenge with contoured edges. The medallion, lozenge and spandrels all are filled with palmettes, flowers, leaves and vines. Framing the field are four borders, including a herati main border grounded in charcoal and filled with palmettes, vines and flowers. Selvedges are overcast, the rug finishing at each end with a mesh skirt and ivory wool warp fringe. A tag attached to the rug reads ‘Genuine Handwoven Oriental Rug.’
