A hand-knotted wool prayer rug. This rug is attributed to European weavers, and offers a plush pile, while rendered in a palette of indigo, saffron, crimson, sky blue, rose, and ivory. The field features a framed mirhab with column supports and chandeliers, with a row of tulips. The upper portion of the field features a large blossom framed with scrolling vines, and it is framed in a main floral patterned border, along with geometrically shaped guard borders.Finishing this rug are overcast selvedges and bound ends. One end has an added woven natural fiber band with rings, and it is labeled with a paper and a plastic tag ‘Genuine Handwoven Oriental Rug’.
