Item Details
A hand-knotted Persian Mir Seraband accent rug. This wool rug is made from a fragment of a carpet runner. It features an allover mir-a-boteh pattern over a garnet field. Framing the field on both lateral sides are compound borders, including a Serabend meander border incorporating boteh and geometric vines over ivory. The palette is garnet, navy blue, ivory, blush and slate blue. Selvedges are overcast, the rug finishing at each end with ivory cotton warp fringe. A tag attached to the rug reads ‘Genuine Handwoven Oriental Rug.’
