Item Details
A hand-knotted Persian Hamadan area rug. This wool carpet is hand-knotted in a palette of vegetable-dyed cranberry, slate blue, olive, ecru, pink, ocher , navy and black. It has a stepped rhomboid shaped medallion with a floral border and central design on a plain diamond shaped lozenge. The corner spandrels have stepped edges and are patterned with angular leaves and flowers. It is framed with sawtooth and linked floral patterned borders. Finished with overcast selvedges and short fringe to either end. Marked to verso.
