Item Details
A hand-knotted Persian Mir Sarouk wool area rug. This rug is rendered in an abrashed palette of madder red, indigo, ivory, sage, sky blue, and pale yellow. The lozenged madder red hued field begins with a central diamond pendant medallion, with coordinating spandrels each infilled with a serabend pattern. The field also features an all-over lattice of boteh motifs, and picket and sawtooth frames at the spandrels. Framing the field is a main Seraband border, along with a pair of laleh abbasi guard borders. Finishing this rug are overcast selvedges and bound ends, as well as visible blue weft threads to the underside. It is labeled ‘Genuine Handwoven Oriental Rug’.
