Hand-Knotted Persian Karaja Accent Rug
Item Details
A hand-knotted Persian Karaja accent rug. This wool rug, attributed to tribal weavers in the Heriz area of Iran, is rendered in a palette of scarlet, rose, ivory and sapphire. It begins with a vertical row of three Karaja medallions over a scarlet field, which is filled with geometric pinwheels, rosettes and abstract motifs. Selvedges are overcast, the rug finishing at each end with ivory wool warp fringe. A label is attached.
