Item Details
A hand-knotted vegetable-dyed Afghani wool area rug. This rug is rendered in palette of madder red, sky blue, creamy ivory, sepia, and indigo. The madder red colored field features a lattice of palmettes and square medallions, along with branched floral and arrow forms. Framing the field is a main border of geometrically shaped patterns of arrows, flowers, amulets, boteh, and palmette forms, and guard borders of flowers and diamonds. Finishing this rug are triple overcast selvedges and a patterned kilim skirt with gray wool warp fringe to the ends. Labeled with a plastic tag ‘Genuine Handwoven Oriental Rug’.
