Item Details
A hand-knotted Persian area rug. This wool rug features a Kerman-style design in a palette of rose, taupe, teal, cream and black. It begins with a large floral medallion with pendants at top and bottom, rendered in cream, taupe and rose with occasional outlining in black, features that are repeated in the spandrels and borders. The medallion rests on a semi-open, rose-colored field, which is framed by flowers, lancet leaves, palmettes and cartouches over taupe. Selvedges are overcast, the rug finishing at each end with ivory cotton warp fringe. It is labeled ‘Made in Iran’ on the reverse.
