A handwoven Turkmen wool area rug. This rug is rendered in a palette of crimson, indigo, saffron, cranberry, ivory, and ochre. The field features an all-over lattice pattern of alternating Dyrnak style guls that have hooked elements and diamond shapes. Framing the field is a main diamond and cruciform lattice patterned border, along with stepped guard borders, and other geometrically patterned minor borders. Finishing this rug are overcast selvedges and a short wool warp fringe to the ends. Unlabeled.
