Item Details
A vintage handwoven Caucasian Lesghi inscribed wool kilim, likely Balkan in origin based upon the script. This flatweave area rug is rendered in an abrashed palette of crimson, sepia, ivory, rose, powder blue, mauve, and cornsilk. The crimson hued field features eight Lesghi star medallions, along with an inscription to one end, and a sawtooth pattern to the edges. Framing the field is a large scale carnation meander, as well as another sawtooth border. Finishing this rug are overcast selvedges and a braided binding with wool warp fringe to the ends. Unlabeled.
