Item Details
A semi-antique hand-knotted Persian Mehriban area rug. This wool rug begins with a small floral medallion surrounded by discrete sprays of flowers and lancet leaves over a coral field. The palette is coral, midnight blue, cream and sage. Framing the field are four borders, including a wide herati main border, featuring palmettes, lancet leaves and elaborate vinework over midnight blue. Selvedges are overcast, the rug finishing at each end with short cotton warp fringe. It is unlabeled.
