A 2008 limited edition serigraph print titled What is the Cost of Oil? by well-listed and world-renowned contemporary street artist Shepard Fairey (South Carolina/California, born 1970). The print features a young man wearing a ‘Team USA’ t-shirt, leaning on the front of his oversized vehicle and raising a gas nozzle with drops of blood falling from it and pooling on the ground. The license plate reads ‘Freedom isn’t Free’ and the phrase ‘What is the cost of oil?’ is printed across the lower edge. The print is signed and dated in pencil to the lower right, and is numbered 251 out of an edition of 400 to the lower left. It is housed under glass in a black composite frame and is ready to hang with a wire.
